About the Role
The Corporate Controller/Odoo Expert role is designed for an experienced professional with strong Odoo ERP expertise and a proven accounting background. This position requires someone who can immediately contribute, manage financial operations, and oversee the implementation of efficient business practices. With direct reporting to the President, this role offers a clear path to CFO.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and deliver GAAP-compliant financial statements to leadership and external auditors.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings.
- Manage large cash disbursements and ensure accurate financial tracking.
- Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, and two accounting staff members.
- Handle bank reconciliations, tax filings, and support external CPA collaborations.
- Reconcile and manage inventory counts for raw materials and finished goods.
- Conduct frequent audits of company books, resolving inaccuracies and ensuring compliance.
- Prepare financial forecasts, budgets, and advisories to support leadership decision-making.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and cost savings.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of Odoo ERP experience with no training required.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks.
- At least 2 years in a senior-level accounting role (e.g., Accounting Manager, Senior Staff Accountant, Assistant Controller).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial, and cost accounting principles.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in small to mid-sized, family-owned businesses.
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills.
- Leadership skills with proven ability to inspire teams and manage transitions.
- Background in mechanical engineering (a plus, not required).
- CPA or MBA credentials (advantageous but not mandatory).
