About the Role
This is a backend-focused engineering role for developers who specialize in Python and Odoo ERP. The position centers around deep customization of business logic, modeling manufacturing processes, integrating real-time data from factory systems, and preparing the architecture for AI-native workflows. The role requires a solid understanding of data structures, ERP logic, and manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Customize and extend core Odoo modules (Manufacturing, Inventory, CRM, Logistics).
- Develop and integrate new data models and business logic using Odoo ORM and PostgreSQL.
- Ingest real-time data from factory IoT devices and equipment into ERP or supporting systems.
- Build scalable PostgreSQL schemas for AI-native data ontologies and decision systems.
- Enable contextual automation and interaction protocols for AI agents within ERP workflows.
- Work directly with manufacturing engineers and stakeholders to map and implement operational logic.
- Write clean, modular, and testable Python code that follows Odoo best practices.
Required Skills
- 3+ years of professional experience with backend Odoo development.
- Proficient in Python with deep knowledge of Odoo ORM, module structure, and XML view customization.
- Strong expertise in PostgreSQL data modeling, schema optimization, and relational design.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes and ERP-based operational workflows.
- Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams to translate requirements into functional systems.
- Experience with APIs, webhooks, and Python-based integrations with industrial or business systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of IoT protocols like OPC UA, MQTT, or equivalent.
- Exposure to AI/agentic systems, decision automation, or model context frameworks.
- Experience with knowledge graph/ontology modeling or semantic data structures.
- Prior development of Odoo QWeb templates, automation scripts, or advanced server actions.
- Background in Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, or digital twin systems.
