About the Role
The Financial Controller – ERP (Odoo) & BI role is designed for a systems-oriented finance professional who enjoys building, optimizing, and owning the full financial backbone of an organization. This position involves shaping and maintaining the ERP environment, implementing data models, developing dashboards, ensuring clean financial flows, and creating automation that enhances visibility and operational integrity. It is a hands-on role with substantial autonomy, ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of finance, data, and digital tools.
Responsibilities
- Implement and manage the financial data model within Odoo, including analytical accounts, project dimensions, and object structures.
- Ensure accurate data flow between operational processes and accounting, covering projects, invoices, payments, and supplier interactions.
- Develop and harmonize internal and statutory accounting structures aligned with Spanish regulations.
- Design and maintain weekly cashflow models, liquidity forecasts, and project-level financial insights.
- Connect project pipelines and renovation timelines with cash requirements and financing needs.
- Build BI dashboards that consolidate financial reality across cash, margins, project performance, and cost evolution.
- Establish and execute monthly closing procedures, reconciliation processes, and internal controls.
- Standardize, simplify, and automate financial operations to enable scalability and reduce manual workload.
- Collaborate closely with external tax and accounting advisors to ensure compliance while preserving a clean internal financial logic.
Required Skills
- 2–6 years of experience in Controlling or Finance, ideally within small teams or environments where full ownership was required.
- Proven experience implementing or deeply customizing an ERP system (Odoo strongly preferred).
- Strong Excel/Google Sheets expertise, including complex modeling and basic automation.
- Practical experience working with BI tools such as Power BI, Metabase, or Looker.
- Ability to read and manage financial documents, invoices, and balance sheets in Spanish.
- Solid understanding of Spanish accounting and taxation principles or the ability to learn them quickly.
- Ability to design systems, iterate quickly, and structure data models logically and efficiently.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in real estate, construction, or project-based organizations.
- Experience with intercompany structures such as OpCo/PropCo, SPVs, and internal pricing models.
- Familiarity with Spanish GAAP (PGC) and local reporting practices.
- Previous work in startup or scale-up environments.
- A demonstrated track record of building dashboards, ERP modules, process automation, or similar systems.
