About the Role
The Senior Odoo Accountant will act as the Finance System Owner for Odoo, combining hands-on accounting responsibilities with strategic business partnering. The role ensures financial accuracy, IFRS compliance, and system integrity across multiple entities, while leveraging Odoo modules to automate processes, streamline reporting, and provide actionable insights for management.
This position operates in a data-driven SaaS environment, bridging finance, operations, and strategic planning to support decision-making and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end accounting operations in Odoo Accounting
- Handle multi-company and intercompany transactions
- Ensure correct accounting logic, controls, and regulatory compliance
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings
- Perform bank and payment gateway reconciliations
- Maintain localized charts of accounts and multi-currency transactions
- Ensure VAT compliance (EU / UAE) and oversee tax reporting
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory authorities
- Own finance-related Odoo modules including Accounting, Invoicing, Subscriptions, and Spreadsheets
- Maintain clean, reliable financial data structures within Odoo
- Ensure contracts, subscriptions, invoices, and revenue recognition are accurately reflected
- Reduce manual work through system configuration and automation
- Support monthly and annual closing processes
- Ensure audit readiness and proper documentation
- Track and analyze subscription and SaaS metrics such as ARR, MRR, NRR, churn, renewals, ARPA, gross margin, deferred revenue, and cash collection
- Support unit economics analysis (CLV, CAC, CAC payback period) with auditable data
- Identify revenue leakage, billing inconsistencies, or contract misalignment
- Translate financial data into actionable insights for management
- Support pricing decisions, deal structuring, discounting, and partner models
- Build and maintain management dashboards using Odoo Spreadsheets
- Maintain strong internal controls suitable for a growing SaaS business
- Prepare finance function for scale, audits, and due diligence activities
- Continuously improve financial processes, documentation, and clarity
Requirements
- 5+ years in accounting or financial control
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA / ACCA / CA preferred)
- Strong hands-on experience with Odoo Accounting, Invoicing, and Subscriptions
- Experience managing multi-entity, multi-currency accounting structures
- Solid knowledge of applicable accounting standards (GAAP / IFRS)
- Strong understanding of VAT frameworks (EU / UAE)
- Data literacy and strong analytical mindset
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-finance stakeholders
- Structured, precise, and process-oriented
- Comfortable challenging assumptions with data-driven insights
