About the Role
Scapta is seeking an Odoo Technical Lead to support the development of its new Odoo business unit.
The Technical Lead will define and maintain the technical standards for Odoo implementations. The role involves deciding when standard Odoo functionality should be used, when custom development adds value, and how technical solutions should be designed for long-term maintainability.
The successful candidate will also guide developers, contribute to presales activities, and work closely with functional consultants.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain the technical architecture of Odoo implementations.
- Develop custom Odoo modules using Python, XML, and OWL.
- Ensure custom development remains aligned with Odoo standards.
- Build integrations with webshops, warehouse management systems, product information management systems, Peppol, and other platforms.
- Develop integrations using REST APIs, other APIs, and webhooks.
- Plan, execute, and validate data migrations from legacy systems to Odoo.
- Conduct code reviews and establish technical development guidelines.
- Coach and support other developers.
- Organize deployments, CI/CD processes, upgrades, and release workflows.
- Work with Odoo.sh, on-premise environments, and Docker.
- Act as the technical point of contact during presales activities.
- Assess technical feasibility, project scope, and effort estimates.
- Collaborate with functional consultants to make maintainable long-term technical decisions.
- Help define the technical standards of the new Odoo business unit.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience as a Python developer.
- Odoo development experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of the Odoo ORM and module structure.
- Understanding of the risks associated with excessive Odoo customization.
- Experience with PostgreSQL.
- Experience using Git.
- Familiarity with modern deployment workflows.
- Ability to explain technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to take responsibility and support the development of colleagues.
- Interest in learning and working with new technologies.
- Good communication skills in Dutch and English.
- Motivation to contribute to Scapta’s growth.
