About the Role
Octura is seeking an Odoo Solution Architect to lead solution design and delivery for mid-market Odoo implementations involving approximately 25 to 250 users.
The role sits between sales, engineering, and client operations. The Solution Architect will lead discovery workshops, define solution blueprints, select modules, design integrations, oversee delivery, and help clients maximize the use of standard Odoo functionality.
The position is full-time and fully remote for candidates based in the United States or Canada.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery workshops with client stakeholders.
- Map current business processes and identify operational gaps.
- Align proposed solutions with client business outcomes.
- Prepare solution blueprints covering module scope, integrations, data migration, and go-live sequencing.
- Determine when standard Odoo functionality is sufficient and when custom development is required.
- Document architectural and functional decisions.
- Collaborate with technical leads on integration architecture.
- Define API approaches, webhook patterns, and idempotency requirements.
- Oversee delivery across three to five concurrent Odoo implementations.
- Identify and remove project blockers.
- Escalate delivery risks to leadership when required.
- Define and manage data migration strategies.
- Support chart-of-accounts mapping.
- Manage customer and vendor data consolidation.
- Support opening balances and parallel-run activities.
- Lead weekly client steering committee meetings.
- Communicate project status, risks, and required decisions.
- Support presales activities.
- Prepare scoping estimates and architecture sections for proposals.
- Position Odoo against alternatives such as NetSuite, SAP Business One, and Microsoft Dynamics.
- Contribute to Octura’s delivery playbooks.
- Improve discovery templates, blueprint structures, and delivery phase criteria.
- Coach functional analysts and junior Project Managers.
- Support colleagues with process mapping, requirements gathering, and client negotiations.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of experience delivering ERP implementations.
- Experience leading at least 4 Odoo implementations from start to finish.
- Experience delivering mid-market ERP projects involving approximately 25 to 250 users.
- Strong knowledge of standard Odoo module functionality.
- Knowledge of Odoo Community Association solutions.
- Ability to determine when custom development is required.
- Strong understanding of financial operations.
- Knowledge of accrual accounting.
- Understanding of multi-entity and multi-currency processes.
- Knowledge of revenue recognition and taxation processes.
- Ability to prepare integration architecture documentation without engineering support.
- Ability to create sequence diagrams and document failure scenarios and service-level requirements.
- Excellent written English.
- Ability to prepare client-facing solution documentation.
- Ability to manage scope disputes, change-control discussions, and executive escalations.
- Strong remote-working skills.
- Ability to operate effectively in ambiguous project environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Official certification in Odoo 17, 18, or 19.
- French-Canadian language skills for Quebec implementations.
- Previous consulting experience with NetSuite, SAP Business One, Sage Intacct, or Microsoft Dynamics 365.
- Experience growing a delivery practice from approximately 5 to more than 20 consultants.
