About the Role
The company is seeking an experienced Odoo Developer & Business Systems Specialist to take ownership of the development, customization, and continuous improvement of its Odoo environment.
This role combines software development, business analysis, process optimization, integrations, and cross-functional ERP ownership. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and operational teams to understand business processes and translate them into practical Odoo solutions.
The objective is to develop Odoo into an integrated, scalable business platform rather than a collection of separate modules.
Responsibilities
- Develop, customize, and maintain Odoo modules using Python and the Odoo framework.
- Configure workflows, automated actions, approvals, permissions, and business rules.
- Customize Odoo models, views, reports, dashboards, and forms.
- Develop and maintain internal and third-party integrations.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing Odoo functionality.
- Manage Odoo upgrades.
- Ensure custom developments remain maintainable and compatible with newer Odoo versions.
- Work with management and operational teams to understand current business processes.
- Map workflows and identify inefficiencies, duplication, and manual administration.
- Translate business requirements into clear Odoo specifications.
- Design and implement end-to-end workflows.
- Continuously improve the Odoo environment as business requirements evolve.
- Support CRM, business development, sales, and quotation processes.
- Support customer management, projects, contracts, and service delivery.
- Work with finance, invoicing, HR, and employee management processes.
- Support recruitment, training, and education workflows.
- Contribute to document management, compliance, and regulatory processes.
- Develop reporting, dashboards, business intelligence, and operational analytics.
- Support internal approvals, communication, task management, and customer portals.
- Help connect different business functions into a coherent Odoo environment.
- Manage work from requirements gathering through development, testing, implementation, and optimization.
Requirements
- Strong hands-on experience developing and customizing Odoo.
- Strong Python development skills.
- Strong knowledge of the Odoo framework and architecture.
- Experience with PostgreSQL and relational databases.
- Experience developing custom Odoo modules.
- Experience configuring Odoo Studio.
- Experience with automated actions and server actions.
- Experience configuring Odoo workflows.
- Experience with APIs and third-party integrations.
- Understanding of security groups, access rights, and user permissions.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining Odoo implementations.
- Ability to translate complex business processes into technical solutions.
