About the Role
The Senior Odoo Developer will become part of Camptocamp’s Business Solutions team, which consists of business experts and experienced developers who collaborate within self-organized, goal-driven teams. The position involves contributing to the implementation and support of Odoo projects, working alongside consultants, architects, and fellow developers.
This role offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative Open Source projects, develop new technical solutions, and work in a supportive, collaborative environment. The position can be based in Olten or Zurich, with options for partial or full remote work within Europe.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and understand customer requirements for Odoo implementations
- Develop new Odoo modules or enhance existing ones using Python, HTML/XML, and JavaScript
- Deliver high-quality code in line with functional requirements, project budgets, and timelines
- Write and maintain automated unit and functional tests to ensure comprehensive coverage
- Maintain existing codebases and manage technical debt effectively
- Deploy applications on the hosting platform and ensure stable operation
- Provide technical support and assistance to customers when needed
- Participate actively in the Odoo ecosystem and the OCA community
- Contribute to the enhancement of internal tools and the hosting platform
- Utilize tools such as GitHub, Docker, Travis, Argo CD, and Kubernetes in a Linux (Ubuntu/Pop!_OS) environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline
- At least 5 years of professional experience in Odoo development
- Proficiency in Python and SQL (PostgreSQL)
- Active involvement in the Open Source community
- Strong understanding of complex frameworks and architecture, including Odoo core processes, e-commerce, connectors, and EDI
- Knowledge of logistics workflows
- Motivated, detail-oriented, and accountable approach to work
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced setting
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience collaborating with distributed teams across multiple countries
- Fluency in English
Nice to Have
- Experience with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Familiarity with other ERP systems
- Knowledge of profiling and debugging tools and methods
- Experience working with Linux systems
- Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with core Odoo applications such as Sales, Purchase, and Inventory
