About the Role

Vultr is seeking an Engineering Manager, ERP to lead a cross-functional team responsible for developing its internal control plane into a more structured, ERP-grade platform.

The manager will work closely with Finance, Data, and Analytics teams to define and implement systems supporting product catalogues, accounting, revenue recognition, billing, invoicing, and cost allocation.

The role involves improving an existing platform while it remains in active use. The successful candidate will lead a team consisting of a Project Manager and approximately two or more engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Own the technical roadmap for the development of Vultr’s internal platform toward ERP-based structures.
  • Support systems related to product catalogues, charts of accounts, revenue recognition, billing, invoicing, and cost allocation.
  • Build and lead a small cross-functional engineering team.
  • Work closely with Finance, Data, and Analytics teams.
  • Balance rapid delivery with data quality and long-term system design.
  • Define and maintain data contracts between the internal platform and downstream consumers.
  • Support Finance, Analytics, and external reporting requirements.
  • Translate finance-related requirements into clear engineering solutions.
  • Establish engineering standards and code review practices.
  • Create and maintain architectural decision records.
  • Lead quarterly planning and prioritisation.
  • Partner with Finance and Data leadership.
  • Hire, mentor, and retain engineers.
  • Guide engineers working on domain-specific and integration-focused systems.
  • Communicate technical decisions to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience managing engineering teams.
  • Experience managing teams responsible for internal platforms, billing systems, or ERP-related products is preferred.
  • Experience contributing to at least one ERP implementation or development project.
  • Experience with NetSuite, SAP, Workday Financials, or a comparable internally developed ERP system.
  • Ability to work effectively with unclear or evolving requirements.
  • Ability to convert broad objectives into quarterly deliverables.
  • Strong collaboration skills across different departments.
  • Ability to work closely with both Finance and Engineering teams.
  • Proven experience hiring and developing engineers.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams in complex business domains.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
