About the Role
The ERP Implementation Financial Consultant will lead financial-focused Odoo ERP projects. This role involves designing, configuring, testing, and deploying financial modules while ensuring alignment with best practices and accounting standards. The consultant will work directly with clients, project managers, and technical teams, independently managing smaller engagements and contributing to project success.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary financial subject-matter expert for Odoo ERP implementations
- Lead and support the deployment of Odoo financial modules, including Accounting, Invoicing, Assets, and Budgeting
- Facilitate change management and adoption of ERP solutions with clients
- Analyze and resolve financial and accounting issues
- Assist with financial data migration, validation, and reconciliation
- Ensure configurations align with GAAP and IFRS best practices where applicable
- Write functional specifications for customizations, reports, and integrations
- Perform testing, validation, and solution design for financial processes
- Ensure proper financial controls across inventory, manufacturing, and operations
- Set priorities and communicate effectively with project teams, clients, and management
- Monitor and contribute to project tasks and milestones
- Support user training, documentation, and post-go-live stabilization
- Maintain required Odoo certifications
- Record time and expenses accurately in the project accounting system
- Travel regularly to client sites, including overnight stays when required
Requirements:
- 2+ years of hands-on experience with a full ERP system
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years in finance or accounting roles, ideally within Manufacturing, Distribution, Retail, Job Shop, or project-based environments
- Experience in ERP financial implementations, preferably full-cycle
- Strong understanding of month-end close, financial consolidations, accruals, sub-ledger reconciliations, financial reporting, planning, and forecasting
- Proven ability to implement best-practice financial processes for clients
- Strong organizational, communication, and client-facing skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
Preferred:
- Professional designation (CPA, CMA, CGA, CA)
- Previous ERP consulting experience
- Odoo certification(s)
