About the Role
The Senior Odoo Developer will join the Business Solutions team, which combines business experts and skilled developers working in self-organized, goal-oriented teams. The position focuses on implementing and supporting Odoo projects, contributing to Open Source initiatives, and collaborating closely with consultants, architects, and developers.
This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive and collaborative team environment while developing innovative solutions for clients. The position can be based in Olten or Zurich, with the possibility of hybrid or fully remote work within Europe.
Responsibilities
- Study and analyze customer requirements for Odoo implementations
- Develop new Odoo modules or contribute to existing ones using Python, HTML/XML, and JavaScript
- Ensure code quality while adhering to project timelines and budgets
- Write automated unit and functional tests to ensure comprehensive project coverage
- Maintain and improve the existing code base while managing technical debt
- Deploy applications on the hosting platform and ensure smooth operations
- Support customers by troubleshooting and resolving issues
- Contribute to the Odoo ecosystem and OCA community
- Participate in the development of internal tools and hosting platform improvements
- Use development tools such as GitHub, Docker, Travis, Argo CD, and Kubernetes within a Linux (Ubuntu/Pop!_OS) environment
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or an equivalent field
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Odoo development
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL (PostgreSQL)
- Active participation in the Open Source community
- Solid understanding of complex frameworks and architectures such as Odoo core processes, e-commerce, connectors, and EDI
- Good knowledge of logistics workflows
- Motivated, detail-oriented, and responsible work approach
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience working with distributed teams across multiple offices and countries
- Fluency in English
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- Experience with other ERP systems
- Knowledge of profiling and debugging tools and techniques
- Experience working in Linux environments
- Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes
- Proficiency in core Odoo applications such as Sales, Purchase, and Inventory
