About the Role
The company is seeking an Odoo Techno-Functional Consultant to connect business requirements with the ERP platform.
The consultant will work closely with departments such as Purchasing, Inventory, Accounting, Sales, and Manufacturing and will be responsible for translating operational needs into Odoo solutions.
Unlike a consulting role with changing client projects, this position focuses on continuously improving the internal processes of one growing organization.
Responsibilities
- Take techno-functional ownership of Odoo implementation projects from fit-gap analysis and solution design through configuration, development, go-live, and hypercare.
- Analyze business processes across Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, Accounting, and Manufacturing.
- Map business requirements to standard Odoo functionality.
- Recommend custom development only where it is functionally justified.
- Lead workshops with internal business departments.
- Translate requirements into functional specifications.
- Present alternative solution approaches.
- Develop directly in Odoo using Python, XML views, OWL, and custom modules.
- Conduct code reviews for internal and external contributions.
- Design integrations with third-party systems.
- Implement integrations directly or coordinate external development partners.
- Work with systems including Magento, Akeneo, and payment providers.
- Plan and execute data migrations.
- Support user acceptance testing.
- Manage external Odoo partners from both a functional and technical perspective.
- Review and approve externally delivered work.
- Train key users.
- Maintain functional documentation.
- Provide support for production Odoo modules.
Requirements
- Several years of professional experience with Odoo.
- Experience as an Odoo Developer or Techno-Functional Consultant.
- Strong knowledge of core Odoo modules, including Sales, Purchasing, Inventory, and Accounting.
- Understanding of standard Odoo functionality and its limitations.
- Ability to analyze business processes.
- Ability to explain technical and functional topics clearly to both management and developers.
- Native-level German.
- Good English skills for collaboration with external partners.
Preferred Qualifications
- Odoo Functional Certification or willingness to obtain it.
- Experience with e-commerce processes.
- Knowledge of German accounting requirements.
- Experience with Python, XML, OWL, and custom Odoo module development.
- Experience with integrations involving Magento, Akeneo, or payment providers.
